Apparently not just a problem for the AGers... http://www.bikeforest.com/scott/?p=347

A disappointing and chilling anecdote in my opinion. Kudos for him for calling people out by name. Probably doesn't make him many friends among his peers, except among those racing cleanly... which from the looks of it is fine by him.

Of course if you read the blog of one of the guys he called out, you get a different story... impossible to know the truth, I guess...

Reading comprehension 101.  He named the people he saw ride CLEAN.  He did NOT name the people he saw riding suspiciously.

He called out at least one...

"...I had some distinctly choice words again for eventual 2nd place finisher Bernhard Hiebl (who took cheating to a new level) as he was sucking a major draft, sitting right on the wheel of the guy ahead of him."

That's what I get for skimming. You read a post where it says people "get called out by name", you see names in all caps, you assume they're the offenders. Or at least I did.

So the OP was wrong, in that they didn't get called out by name?  I don't feel like going back and skimming reading the article again.  Well, then meh.  What's interesting about someone griping about drafting?

Wow...that takes pure stones.

I have to give the guy props for putting his cards on the table and calling out his fellow professionals. The guy has masivo testicluos. Good on him for standing up and calling out those who cheated.

Interesting that this is on the front page of triathlete magazine's website:

What I don't get is the official seemingly to acknowledge what is going on with drafting but not doing anything but gives him a penalty for throwing a bottle past the end of the zone.

If they cheat give them penalties.

I really dislike seeing folks cheat at races..we do it for fun..but these guys do it for money.

There's a really, really long thread about this on ST where some of the top ten guys chime in on the subject. Because I know Scott (he's my chiropractor) and I was bored, I took the time to read it. He's a great guy and I can't fathom him throwing out accusations like that if they were not 100% true. In case your interested:
