Pre-race routine:

Got up at 4am and had a breakfast shake, a banana, and some Gatorade. Made my way to the race start (about 1.25 miles) and got some coffee on the way.
Event warmup:

Some stretching in the corrals and a little jogging.

Comments:

I decided to run with the erace with my wife. She hadn't been running as much, so we were at a little slower pace than I would've gone. It was nice to run with her, although she really hit a wall around mile 11.
It was really humid so I was taking a lot of fluids in. I stopped twice to use the restrooms - - something I never do during a race. She got moving again and picked it up after mile 12. Overall, I'm probably much faster than her, but she has great finishing speed (especially once the finish line is in sight - -mine is more of a sustained or building speed, not a sprint). I had joked with her that I would run 13 miles with her and she would leave me in the dust for the final .1 miles. She said that wouldn't happen, but she took off like a bullet once we hit Downtown Disney and it was everything I had to stay with her! I crossed the finish line just behind her - although I apparently beat her by 2 seconds.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. I wasn't going for a PR - just wanted to run with her. We also wanted to run with my former college roommate but couldn't find him in the corral. He finished less than a minute in front of us (had we not stopped for the restroom, we would've caught him).
Post race
Warm down:

Got some Powerade and walked it off. She was really hurting and I had a huge blister (popped!) from my new shoes. (Cool, there's already blood on them). We headed over to the massage tent (almost no waiting) and got a quick rubdown.

Event comments:

I like this race as I am able to mix an event with a family vacation. It's really crowded, but they do a good job. My daughter did one of the kids' races the day before and I may also start doing the 5K on that day. This was my second year doing this event and I'd like to do it every year.

Great race! I was running with my daughter and wife as well, and it's so nice to be able to mix a mini family vacation with a race.
