Just went to their website a few moments ago to check out the cost of registration for the HIM...and it said that online registration is no longer available for the event. Registration just opened today. The website says there is a limit of 2000 participants for the HIM...so does that mean it filled up already??? Or am I missing something?

I would VERY much doubt that it filled up... I'm not positive it's ever really filled up?  Though if it has, it would be much closer to the event (I think I registered sometime in May/June for this race).

I would be more inclined to think that they're website hasn't been set up to accept registrations for this year yet.  That wouldn't surprise me at all.

Thanks everyone. Yeah, I signed up for it...GULP!! According to the website, it has a max of 2000 participants, and when I registered last night it said there were 1,916 people signed up already! I thought that was kinda odd, but didn't want to take a chance of it selling out...so I signed up last night. I'm committed...no turning back now. This will be my first HIM, and only my 3rd tri...so it will definitely be a challenge.

ETA - Looks like that participant list was from last year's race. I guess I could have waited to sign up for it afterall. Oh well...that's okay. Now I won't be able to come up with excuses to NOT sign up. :-)

Nah...I think you've got plenty of time. The info that is coming up on the registration website (HFP Racing) regarding the number of participants registered, looks to be from last year's race. So, you've probably got some time to think about it. I suppose a call to them wouldn't hurt, just to clarify that the website hasn't been updated yet.

its more I have to decide quick if I am going to save $50 or not.    I signed up this early last year but I did not make it due to injury.   Frankly its cheaper but more riskier

Ahh...I see. Yeah, I sort of know what you mean regarding it being "cheaper but riskier". I like the fact that I got in early to save $50, BUT...I'm dealing with an injury right now (bad heel spur) and the outcome is still up in the air. I'm awaiting my custom orthotics to arrive, and hopefully (knocking on wood) they will allow me to run relatively pain-free. If not, then it looks like I might be walking most (if not all) of that half-mary run.
