Subject: I'm having too much fun!

The weather has been nice so I took my new Cervelo P3 Tri Bike out for a long ride the other day for the first time. WOW! What a blast to ride. It is so fast. Yesterday I did the same thing. I could not resist.

The only problem is that I want to hammer when I get on it. I can't seem to go slow, but "Red Lined" most of the time.

It is hard to keep to my planned training effort. I guess it is back to the mountain bike or road bike until I learn to control my rides better.

PS: I rode an average of 3.5 miles faster for 70 miles than my road bike. Amazing!

IMHO you should keep riding your Cervelo until some of the "new toy" giddiness wears off.

A new bike sounds like so much fun, but I'm not... looking... at... bikes...

I agree, keep riding it until you've gotten used to the speed and lightness of your bike. I did the same thing with my bike when I bought it. Also, ride on a windy day. that will slow you down substantially. Sometimes I ride on top of the levee along the mississippi river (it's paved) and at least a third of the time, I'm just doing my best not to get blown off my bike--kind of freaky when you're looking at a good 20 foot plunge off the side. lol So I get fear-factor excitement, and reason not to pedal as fast and as hard as I can for the duration of the work out.
