Master  2238    Dallas |  Subject: Ironman Arizona : Official ThreadOpen for training partners in the DFW area for runs and long rides. 15-20mph bike rides and 9:30 min/mile long runs (10 through 22 miles) and 7:30 tempos. We'll have fun and train our butts off.

I stayed at the finish until midnight this year and it was very motivating. I look forward to getting there with each of you. This will be my first Ironman. I have 5 kids and they along with my wife are very supportive but I worry about getting enough training time with everything else, but I'm guessing everyone else has the same concerns. Good Luck |

Speak for yourself. I can't wake up early to save my life. Running at midnight...on the other hand...is something I can do. Is there anyone out there on here in the chicagoland area??  Maybe we need to do some type of introduction in here. |

Regular 104 Monmouth, Oregon | Subject: RE: Ironman Arizona : Official Thread I actually work 4-10's Tuesday thru Friday from 10pm to 8am so I have to get pretty creative on my training time, but I think it is actually easier then 9-5ers because I can train when I get off work in the a.m. or go home and go to sleep and then train when I get up around 4pm. I switch back to sleeping at night on my weekends so I lose almost 1 day of sleep each week, so I have to watch when I am getting sick to get plenty of sleep. I already feel the little knot in my stomach when I think too much about IMAZ. I love that feeling it makes me feel alive, it's how I know I'm living...and not just getting by. |

Also, I was at this year's race as a spectator so I got to envision the whole race in my mind. Every time I think about that cannon starting the swim leg my heart races up. Good thing that we have a whole year to get ready for it, huh? Best of lucks to all of you, I hope to see you at the race and shake your hands!!

Relax, the next few months should be all about building up a decent base, have some fun, sleep in while you can, go mountain biking, etc. Be careful of burnout, even a 24 week training plan gets very long after a while |

I in the Ironman race but in a regular wheelchair propelling myself forward with ski polls trying to make a green light. Nice. The dreams will only get better from here! |
