Ok, I see a thread for every other single Ironman out there so figure I would be the one to start IMCDA! Who's in?

7 months out.  I'm assuming most of you are like me and are in maintenance mode right now and then will really pick it up towards the middle/end of January?

I really had a blast doing IMAZ two weeks ago (my first).  However, I am really looking forward to CDA.  I have not heard one negative comment about the race.  I'm really excited about it!

Let's hear from everyone else!

Hey Lance,
Thanks for starting the thread. I'm really looking forward to CDA as well. I did it once before, and LOVED it, but it was the old course. I've ridden the new one, and it's great. I''m in maintenance mode right now, but I officially start my training at the beginning of January. Looking forward to getting to know others that are doing the race.

Good luck with it,
Diane

I was wondering if this event would get some attention but was too lazy to start the thread I guess.  This will be my first IM and I am just about ready to get serious about the plan.  Marathon this weekend and then back on the bike looking for some hills in North Texas to train on.

I'm in.  Right now just working on building a base.  I'll kick it into high gear about 20 weeks out.

There was, but it was every other IM for 2009 had a thread out in the main lobby so to speak so I figured we'd get it going out here as that one was hard to find.

the link is easy to find if you click the "RACE TALK" link on the left side of your blog site where you have your planned races listed.  by clicking that it doesn't matter where in the Iron Distance forum the thread has been pushed down to.

what is usually the overall wheel choice at CDA? Is the course really too hilly to run a disk?  What about if your not a great climber?  Would you stay away from a disk if this is the case? Or are there enough flats to take advantage of a disk?

I rode the course a couple months ago.  DISK for sure.   The hills aren't bad at all...but then again I've done IM WI the last 3 years so hills don't bother me.

Are the road surfaces pretty smooth? Just want to prepare myself for miles and miles of chipseal if I have to.
