sorry gang but i had to share this...

being a procrastinator/cheapo(wife's words haha) is usually a bad thing, not this time!
We still didn't have our room, hopped on hotwire, 4-star downtown miami at 113 bucks
i said "this cant be right-even for hotwire" as they also had a 3.5 star for 167 on there as well.
Wife told me book it or ill beat you, so i did.
HOOOKED UP, 4 miles from racesite, 10 minutes. same hotel on other sites such as orbitz etc is going for 329.99!! i paid 134 bucks.

soooooo i will be in miami if we are still going to maybe attempt a group swim.

FYI-i just check to see if now that deal is gone-its not. if you have nt already booked go get that right now, you absolutely will not be disappointed.

Sunrise today was around 7:30 AM, it shouldn't be that dark for most of the waves, only for like the first 2 or 3.

Can anyone provide directions to the start? I am staying in Boca, and am not sure what exit I need to take.

Or if you could let me know what address to input into my Magellan GPS, that would be grand too.

Looking forward tot he race!

If you will stay in Boca Raton...You only will need to take the I-95 South till Exit 1A...take that exit and then turn left at SW 26th Rd to 913 East...and you will find the toll before get to Key Biscayne....after the "Rickenbacker Causeway Bridge" you will find the place on your left...just after the Marina...

Good Luck!!!

I would say around an hour, at that time I95 is always empty, but of course it all depends on how fast you drive.  Just see how long it takes you on saturday when you drop off your bike.

yea, i live in the boca area, wife and i got a hotel in miami because its a decent drive to that area of miami.
If your coming from boca on saturday to do the bike drop-off, i would incorporate some traffic on I-95 into the time, probably around 1 hour/1:15 depending....
sunday morning, there shouldn't be any traffic at all at 4 am or whatever so should be around 45-55 minutes.

I just realized I gotta cab it from my hotel.  My wife will need our car to arrive later in the morning with my kids and watch me crawl across the finish line.

On the topic of bike drop off, will you guys fill yer tires before you drop the bike?  Or is it better to let a little pressure out since the bikes will be in the sun all day?   I guess I can use my frame pump to top the bike off in the AM.

Anyone doing the pasta dinner the night before?  My wife wants to hit an Argentine steakhouse but I'm not so sure a pound of churrasco is the best nutrition on race night.

im planning on letting slight pressure out, then on sunday AM arriving with floor or handpump and top off before race or before i take it out for a quick spin.
i was having the same convo with my wife Re: pasta dinner, we were going to go to this nice italian place, but seeing as how i already paid for my pasta dinner, and hers would cost me 15 bucks, it seems like a good deal, so we may do that. probably make a decision by tomorrow.

I asked this question a while ago, because one of my tires actually popped a few months ago from the sun, this time around im gonna let some air out when i drop it and just pump it up on race day.

I had decent pressure when I shipped my bike last week. I am sure I will need to inflate it again. I am not bringing a pump, and counting on the good graces of my fellow triathletes to lend me some 'air'. (But just in case, will ask to borrow a pump from someone not in my age group!)

In the M.I.T site....but...it's not really completly list...you have to do search city by city...LOL

Click in search registration...put your name....and...then delete your name....and fill where they ask for city, state, country and female or male....

I did for all the women in the area of Miami....and...will take too long to get all...LOL..It's a pain in the a**.....

They had a list last year...and...I can't find this year....
