yes, she's big. she's yellow. she won't fit through most doorways. she's ensconced in ironman logos. and she's ALL mine! (well, not quite yet...she's on backorder from rei, but we're on the list)

she finally shipped! should be at rei by the end of next week! i'm so excited. new wheels for most of you means a new tri bike...but since 75% of my runs are w/ my kids, i'm so excited to have a faster set of wheels. today may be our last lake loop w/ the old stroller. will have to clean it up this weekend to get ready to sell (have a waiting list of friends who want to buy the old one, which is nice). here's hoping the new one fits in the back of the vw!

will do! come to think of it, we should probably get a picture of them in the old blue double jogger, before we sell it. the girls have certainly spent enough time in there!

Subject: our B.O.B. IM arrived last night!
here it is! already has 5 miles on it (4 from an afternoon walk, and another mile tonight w/ my husband who helped adjust the tracking and brakes a bit more). considering i feel silly wearing an ironman watch and feel overly self congradulatory when i where a race shirt, you can only imagine how self-conscience i feel pushing this stroller...but i bet i'll be over that after the first run! think i'm going to run farther than my scheduled 3 miles tomorrow? heck yea!

as you can see, the reflective tape is VERY reflective (and we were laughing at all the other things that show up in the garage - reflectors on the bikes and burley, my old commuting helmet).

Subject: RE: first run with the yellow monster
ran about 6 miles today, in the POURING rain. girls stayed dry and comfy, singing songs and watching ducks and geese play in the water. i was drenched by the time we got home! this stroller was an investment, but after today i'm starting to think it was well worth the money (retails for $460 - we knocked off $100 with our rei discount, another $40 with our actual dividends, and are selling the old stroller for $100...do its not quite such a painful purchase).

things i love so far: the kids were dry, the rain shield adjusted easily and stayed put even with ella kicking at it. the rain shield didn't RIP like the two i went through on the other jogger. it tracks wonderfully (and adjusts easily if and when the tracking goes out of alignment again). even though its heavier than my old double (29 lbs instead of 26), it didn't feel heavier at all, just the opposite (maybe it was just my enthusiasm). it was nice to know that i could park it in the garage with wet parts and not have to worry about anything starting to rust (like the wheels on our baby jogger did). i also love that the sun canopy goes down so far over my two red-headed children. the more sun protection the better, i say, and the old stroller didn't have any! so, only 11 miles on it so far, but so far, so good!

things i don't like: today, running in the rain, i loved the fact that it was YELLOW. yesterday, when i walked to the store and back, i felt a bit like i felt riding in a hummer limo at my brother in law's wedding
