Running the full and hoping to go sub 4...we will see.  I have never ran MBM before so excited.  Is a flat course easier?  May be a dumb question.

Not a dumb question at all.   Running a hilly course is tougher than running a flat. MB is flat & fast, the ideal place for a BQ. Fun race. I'm Running the half (w/a goal of 1:40-1:45). Will try for a BQ at the Country Music marathon. All the best!

Great report steveseer!  Are you doing MBM again?  I'm excited to be running a flat course.  Ran Charlotte's Thunder Road and that course is NOT flat!  So hoping to do better.......

Trielle - Thanks for the advice.  Good luck on the BQ.  DH may do the Country Music Half.....SWEET!

No, I wanted to do the half but it filled up insanely fast.  I might go down just to watch though.  I've got a bunch of crazy friends doing it!!

Good luck everybody!

Im in for the full also.  Have only done 26.2 miles twice before and that was after swimming 2.4 miles and biking 112.  I am using this as a training run for a 60K that Im gonna attempt in March.  Goal is to pace myself so that I feel like I could go another 11 miles afterwards.

I'm also running the marathon as a training run.  I ran the Houston Marathon last weekend and am using this marathon to become a Marathon Maniac.  I'm running another marathon in March after MB, and then I should be good for awhile

Hey- I am looking to run a sub four at MB as well.  We should try and run it together- if you're looking to run with someone!!

Has anyone checked the weather lately?  It looks like it might be a rainy day   I'm hoping the forecast is wrong.  We still have plenty of time for that to change!

Right now, weatherundeground has it at a 50% chance with Temps between 40 - 60 so nice and comfortable.

If it was a day like today, I'd be in heaven. Mid 70's and clear.

SWEET!  If you want, we can meet and run together.  I have a few friends running too and trying for sub 4...so if you want to join, that would be sweet.

I hope it doesn't rain.  Did a trail marathon in the rain.  It was nasty!  At least there won't be mud.

Are you guys/gals wearing shorts?

I'm going shorts with a long sleeve shirt that I can throw away if I get warm. I'll probably start with gloves and then take them off.

It's in between throwing another layer on top or going short sleeve.

As for the rain, I'm tracking down another watch so I can leave the Garmin if need be. Any suggestions for running in it? Also, any clue about clocks before the 1/2 split?

I'm bringing my tri shorts and a tri top in case it really rains- I trained in the rain before and ran in that stuff and it was really comfortable and I didn't have to worry about chaffing.  I really want to run in my running skirt though- haven't decided yet.  I'm not going to layer up because I heat up pretty quick.  If it's cold I might wear arm warmers, or a pair of socks as arm warmers that I can throw down if I get too warm.  But usually a tank top and shorts/skirt works good for me in those temps!

Same sort of idea with me. I'll have on running shorts and then dump the shirt if it gets too wet and it's warm.

Train in the rain all the time, can't let my mind get out of control.

Last year I ran with shorts and a long sleeve.  MISTAKE.  After two miles I was wishing I didn't have the long sleeve.  Although, sounds like weather may be worse this year.

As for the half split, you won't get one.  Every mile is marked with a sign.  However, the people running the half will take a left into the finish shoot, and those doing 26.2 go straight.  So there isn't a way to know the exact half way point, but you'll have a marker at 13 miles.

I think I am wearing my skirt.  I find my shorts chaff.  I will wear my short sleeve and skirt.  MAN....I wish I had of thought about the tri shorts.  Mine are in bad shape though.

My Garmin had the distance at 26.49! That last .29 nearly killed me. Is is just me or did anyone else notice this??

I was right at 26.5.

I didn't run close to the tangents, especially at the beginning with all of the half marathoners. That and I was trying to stay on the flat part of the roads so I wasn't running in a straight path.

What a great reace! For my first I am really excited about finishing.  Its great feeling yourself getting stronger each and everyday after the race.  It is now Thur. and I am planning a short bike ride with a short walk/jog afterwards.  Congrats to all the finishers, I wish I couldve met some of you there this year but no such luck.  Keep up the hard work and maybe I'll see you there next year!
