Had one way back, but then kids arrived and wrecked everything

I'm with Rick - one day again, definitely

Maybe a Ducati Monster 1100.

I have a Yamaha FJR.  I agree with an earlier post that triathletes are probably more likely to enjoy outdoor activities including motorcycles.

I got a Vespa this fall -  it's a riot to drive! I've had it up to 60mph and it's a great way to get around this pokey town.

That and I figure I'm ofsetting 1.5 of the 1 ton pickups that all the uni kids around here drive for no good reason.

Maybe a Ducati Monster 1100.

I had a 900.  Little secret - you NEVER stop customizing Monsters!  It's like crack, man.  If you get one, decide RIGHT THEN how much Ti or carbon fiber you plan on putting on it, then hold your ground.

Tail chops, mirrors, clip-ons, rearsets, cans, chip, blinkers, paint, tank guards, chin fairings, pipe wrap, new seat... it doesn't stop!  SO DAMNED FUN, though.

I had the Mostro then got a 748... the Monster sat idle in the garage a lot (no pun intended), so I finally sold it.  I have kept the 748 mainly stock, but I did find some Leo Vince CF cans for free - all I had to do was pay for the new ECU and tuning.  Double-bubble smoked windscreen, too.  Oh, and a monoposto-look seat cover... oh, man, I'm at it again!

Yorkee's bike

I actually find that motorcycling and triathlon are not really related.  Speed on motorcycle is a different animal.  Its more about pushing one's guts and skills... while bicycle is more about pushing one's physical ability.  Maybe I haven't ride my bicycle fast enough yet...

If there is anything that draw motorcyclist to do triathlon, other than both machine requires only two wheels, it would be motorcyclist mentality.  Almost all motorcyclist I know wants to "live" their life and do something outstanding to feel "alive".

YZR 250???

The pipe is tiny, so I'm guessing definitely a 250.

I'm an idiot.  I just googled "Yorkee Yamaha" and went from there.  Rick, you're right - that's a tiny two-smoker pipe.  I can hear the whiny engine from here!

Very close!  You got the 250 part right! but I am no where nearly able to afford a YZR.

When I bought my first bike while stationed in Germany (a Ninja 600R) they also sold some Euro spec. Kawasaki models and I totally wanted their 250 race bike!  But I knew I'd never be able to get it legal in the states.

After getting out of the military I got my FZR 600 and had a blast with it.

I think you can still get those little 250 it in the state.  but it would be in grey market.
