Run
Comments: Start was mixed with 5K, 10K and Half Mary runners, 5K turned off at 1 mile, 10k turned off at 2miles and than we had a long downhill that made my shins cringe. Mile 4 my right big toe and ball of foot started to go numb and a point on my heel also became numb, at the water station around 5.5 miles stopped ate one Accel Gel and drank water, numbness went away. Rest of run was uneventful, a few aches in the hip from the curves in the road. Road flatten out and was able to increase the tempo of run and pretty happy with the final split of 9:12. What would you do differently?: Loose weight. weight was 221. Was also the longest run since the BB Ghost Marathon back on the 13 of December Post race
Warm down: They had alot of bread and chili, bananas and other chip type stuff in the Gym..But being that I wanted to see what I weighted after the race, passed by it.. Got home and weighed myself at 219.5 A pound and a half loss. What limited your ability to perform faster: Weight, age, not much training. Event comments: Good event. Oatmeal and Coffee, took dogs out for a walk before driving to Mt Vernon (25 minute drive)
Got to the registration/checkin/expo in the Skagit Valley CC gym. Found a place on the BB court to stretch and watch the people. 15 minutes before start time, went out to check where the finish area was and the start line. A little running to get warm.
