http://www.rnrvegas.com/    6 December 2009.   Not much info about the course...actually nothing yet...wonder if it will stay the same as 08?

The newsletter I got said the course is changing and is still in the works.  I am very excited and possibly running it with my wife.  I ran it before and must say, it will be better with Rock N Roll!

I can't wait for this years marathon. I've heard a lot of good things about the Rock N Roll Marathons, especially excited since it will also be my 1st full marathon :-)

You will not see anything for a while, while they are revemping the course and everything else with permits. The Rock-n-roll Corporation is now the new owner, and I know from experience they really put together some awesome races together. Patience, it will be an awesome race, and probably expect it up sell out.

It didn't sell out quickly in the past, but now it's a RnR... who knows what that'll do to the enrollment

I have a feeling that as an R&R race, it will sell out. But then, with the economy, who knows. A lot of races that sell out quickly are not selling as quickly anymore. Well, maybe the full and some HIM.

Good luck.

PS. I usually don;t do this, but 2009 is upon us, and I'm again working toward Operation Rebound fund-raising this year. If you are interested, please do not hesitate to click on the link and make some pledges. USAT has endorsed this and is very much behind it. Let's support our fellow soldiers who come back from the Middle East and who have lost a leg, an arm or somthing else. Let's show our support toward them. Our Operation Rebound California Team last year raised over $180,000.00 and this was enough to provide new prostetics for over 14 military soldiers, in which 4 of them are racing in California with us this year.

If you need motivation, just come and see those guys, then you will wonder who are we to think we can't do what we do, and that is the sport of Triathlon. Also, two para-olympians will be there racing relays, in which OZ who won the Gold medal in hand-cycling is racing. They are an amazing group of people, and great friends you make.

Hooyaaa!!!

Looks like my wife and a friend will be running the race this year, so I'll be out somewhere cheering everyone on.

Is anyone familiar with the course?  I was trying to see the elevation for it but it doesn't look like a profile has been posted for it.  I'm assuming it should be pretty flat- yes??

It is pretty flat.  I will try to map a elevation of it.  I should have thought of that.  I live here and I don't recall it being any hills,  but then again when I am on that part of town I am driving.

It's a pretty flat course, no real hills. Might be a slight elevation gain heading west from mile 17.5 to 19. I'll ride the route and upload the profile from the Garmin 705.

If you're riding your bike, just a warning that on Rainbow from Twain to Hacienda, it isn't very bike friendly... even though it shows it as bike friendly on the RTC bike map

You can also take Torrey Pines to Trop instead of Rainbow as that's got a nice bike lane the entire way. I think the Las Vegas Blvd. part until Desert Inn is the most unfriendly/crowded part to ride. Nothing like trying to ride the strip on a bike! I've done the Fremont area heading south to get to Boulder Hwy, but not the main strip itself yet.

Most of my riding is on the Henderson side of town...So I am kind of lost when it comes to riding over there.  Thanks for the ideas.

Just registered for the full shot today.  It's the last day before the cost goes up and I was trying to hold out so I didn't have to do it.

but I'm committed now

Yeah,  I registered as well so I guess I have to do it....sigh.  What was I thinking?  I have an 18 miler scheduled today so I guess I will kind of see how it will go.  Then again next weekend is a 20 so that is even closer.  Thinking now is:  I have a bike and a car,  why the heck am I running?  LOL.
