Whizzz, you look so different without your helmet and bike (she said with a straight face). What a great smile you have and your hair is fab!

Yep, that's Darth Tater. I saw him at Toys R Us today and thought it was a great toy. My first date ever was to the first Star Wars and I remember waiting for the other 2 to come out with great anticipation (I never warmed up to the Eewoks). Susie Derkins avatar will return after Darth has had his 5 minutes of glory.

just had my hair chopped last night! i've also had my hair super short (and platinum blonde!) and long down my back and every length in between. my favorite low-maintenance cut is the good ol' bob. i've had it longer and shorter since i had kids, but i'm at my happiest with a chin length bob. short cuts can be more work than you might think, unless its REALLY short. bring that picture to your stylist and let them know what your goal is (cute & easy).

as for the emotional aspect - i totally understand. cutting hair can be cathartic, a fresh start. it can also be like cutting off a limb. sounds like you are ready though. you might have some hair shock at first, but it also might be a fun way to start off this new tri season.

Thanks to both of you. I'm happy with it and very glad I did it. I think I'm done with long hair for awhile.

WOW!!! That's a great haircut! I think that attractive women almost always look better with short hair -- long hair kind of washes out most people's features, and a lot of people (like you!!!) go from being reasonably attractive with long hair, to being gorgeous with short hair! Good choice!

Whizzer, you have beautiful hair! Both of my children have curly hair. My son all but shaves his head, hates his curls. My daughter wears her hair long, her curls are really tight ringlets. She would like her hair a lot more if she had soft curls like you!

Isn't it funny how we always want what we can't have with hair? I agree whizzer your curls are beautiful.  I have bone straight hair and had soooo many bad Toni home perms in junior high trying in vain to get that look

Thanks everyone! It's funny but most males told me "No! Don't cut" and almost all women said "Yeah! Do it!" My mom will be thrilled; she's been Hinting and Telling me that I should cut it short for a few years now.

Got dressed in no time at all this morning after my bike ride!

Okay..time for a guy to chime in here (since the thread topic is likely to scare most of them off). I'll be the first to admit that I think long hair is sexy..more so than short hair. It's a personal preference thing. Maybe sexy is the wrong word to use..maybe...glamourous would be better. Not sure what Renee looked like pre cut...but her current do is awesome. The comments about her bone structure and way her hair frames her face were spot on. While I'm sure she was equally good looking with long hair..I totally love the new cut. Very youthful and, in the spirit of the sport, energetic. I suppose these comment would be more appreciated if I was a male stylist but oh well. She's got really pretty eyes too.
On the flip side of the coin..whizzer has an equally great look. Bouncy curls are a weakness for me. Redheads (in any iteration) make it worse. Not too sure what she'd look like with a short cut but she has the face that could pull it off too. Kind of Faith Hillesque. I shoulda got into hair dressing. All the good looking women eventually come to one. The sure fire way to meet women job...lol.
Okay..so it wasn't much of a chime in on behalf of the guys..but Renee if you were looking for some sort of support from a guy that you did the right thing getting a short cut..and if my opinion means anything..it looks fantastic. It sure does help that the cut is on a pretty face though

Having just seen Renee in her profile pic (which now she'll have to change) I think the move to shorter hair negates any feelings I have about long hair. Good looking in her profile but amazing in her new pics. Whoever did the cut did an awesome job. Both thumbs now clearly up
