Subject: OWS in/around Bethesda area

A friend who lives in Bethesda has her first HIM in June and wanted to get in some OWS practice before hand.

Does anyone know of a local place that allows OWS in that time frame?

Sandy Point State Park is one of the very few places around here for OWS. In theory, the Potomac might be too.

Actually, just today my tri club included this in a message:

"Once the weather warms up (usually the first or 2nd weekend in May),
we start organizing open water swims at least 3-4 days a week at
various locations across Anne Arundel county (Severn River, Magothy
River, Chesapeake Bay, various creeks connecting to said rivers . . .
). Anyone is welcome. Just remember your wet suit, as it will be COLD
at the beginning."

The only one I'm familiar with is Sandy Point. I believe we start swimming there on Sunday mornings right around Mother's day. I swam with them last year even though I wasn't a member at the time.
