Run
Comments: The run out went faster than I expected. Walked up the last big hill, then ran down to the turnaround. Walk up the big hill again, and then paced myself alternating run/walk on a 3/1 ratio. Then finished the last 5 minutes with all running. At about the 1 mile marker I told Rolando to go ahead and not let me hold him back. He did the race in about 29 minutes. Overall, I'm really happy about my race. I wanted to beat 38 minutes which was my fastest 5K to date and I did that. What would you do differently?: All my training has been inside on a treadmill. I need to get outside and run some cause it is so different. Need to find a group to run with that will keep me running and not let me stop just cause I want to. :) Post race
Warm down: Walked around, banana at the food tent, found Frank and Rolando and visited some. Then home to the shower. Yeah. What limited your ability to perform faster: My right foot flared up with PF. I'm thinking I may need to go do a run clinic and have my strike and gait analyzed to see how we can avoid the PF flaring. Event comments: Fun race. Just wish the 5K could start a little earlier than 10am, but being in Feb it did mean that our day was a little warmer than for the half and 10K runners. With the races spaced out as they were, the finish line was not that crowded. Busy yes, crowded no. Last updated: 2009-01-04 12:00 AM

The 5K wasn't until 10am, but I was at the race by 6:15 to work the race number pick up table. The Half Mary was at 8am, 10K at 8:15, Fun Run at 9:30, and then finally the 5K at 10.
Some walking and stretching. Had to find Rolando (my run partner).
