Comments: Since I forgot my watch I just started out nice and slow and gradually picked up pace ~ once I got out of the crowd which wasn't until about the 1 1/2 mile point. Then out of nowhere I got this gust of energy at about the 5 mile mark and when I saw I had caught up to the military formations (who were the first to start)I, for some reason, made it my mission to pass them. Once I completed that, I realized we had hit the 7 mile point and the end was in sight! What would you do differently?: Save myself some mental turmoil by either driving with friends or just saying from the get go that I'm going by myself. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Walked ~ finding my way to hubby and kiddo. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing considering my goal was a 10min/mile pace! Last updated: 2008-11-28 12:00 AM

Was supposed to link up with some friends so I spent most of the time standing on the porta pottie street corner on the lookout. When I finally came to the realization that I wasn't going to find them, I went and stretched.
