Subject: 30 Day Nutrition Challenge
Alright I really need to start logging my nutrition and I was thinking of opening this up to the whole group as a challenge. Basic idea is:

1. Log ALL your nutrition in your log everyday for 30 days. Basically if it goes in your mouth it goes in your log (Clean your dirty mind Paulette)

2. Winner will be whoever logs the most days.

3. All nutrition must be logged in your BT log by 11:59PM for the day otherwise you will be caught by the if you are caught then you must change your avatar to for 48 hours.

4. This is not a weight loss challenge per se, but if that is your goal logging your nutrition will certainly help.

I'll plan on start logging on Friday Feb 20th. That should give enough time to get used to the nutrition features on BT and start logging. Who is with me?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Edited to add:
Alright challenge spreadsheet is up:
http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=p0ZP4BZpS3rcNWEVfb-wyXw&hl=e...
Rules are pretty simple. Log your nutrition in one of two ways.
1. Write down what you eat for each meal and snack and use the BT nutrition logger to keep track of calories, carbs, fat and protein. See my log for example
2. If you log your nutrition on another site log what you eat and the amount of calories in your BT log.
Example
B: 3 powdered donuts - 800c
Sn: Toast and Butter - 160c
L: Double whopper and chicken fries - 1400c
Sn: Apple - 80c
D: McFlurry with Big Mac chaser - 1600c
etc.
Enjoy the challenge!
Robot.....can I play, but simply list my items at the bottom of my log? Like:
B: 1 cup Kashi
L: 2 cups curried vegetable soup
S: 1/2 a cupcake
D: hummus and raw veggies
I use Fitday.com to log my nutrition, so I just don't want to double duty by learning BT's nutrition logging thing.
ditto on what Tanya said. Can I just list my foods in the nutrtion area or do I need to go find each food in the list. Okay, I'll try the "right" way if I can figure it out but can I still be in if I just list? Pleeeeeze
Robot and I had this discussion - we think that the point is for people to log for calorie (and macronutrient) sake. It's all about LEARNING for some. But there is a benefit to JUST logging food so I see the point there. BUT it is a CHALLENGE. I think everyone should have to use BT's nutrition logging, its only 30 days. I know many people use fitday and other logging sites (I use formulazone) so I too will be doing double duty. But for those who don't use other sites its a good habit to get into, so (like the bike thread) we should all be doing the same thing.
Sporty-
 I've been doing some research and reading since the veggie spat thread :D, and I'm not quite ready to embrace the dark, leafy side completely. However, over the last week I've severely cut my meat intake and upped fruits/veggies. (Dinner last night was black and kidney beans, ground up with white and brown mushrooms and spices to make burger patties...serious yum!)
Any good resources/recipe spots?
This nutrition logging is pretty fun and easy. Seems like everything I search for is already in the BT database. So in general I am shooting for around 3000 calories a day with either a 60-20-20 or 40-30-30 Carb-Protein-Fat balance. I am thinking 60-20-20 as that is typical cyclist food balance. What are other peoples caloric needs and balance?
John - I will post some links I have in my favorites (home computer) glad you are finding things you like. I too love veggie burgers and the ladies who do PPK make an awesome cookbook (VeganOmicon) that has yummy burgers and other bean-type patties! MMM! You should share the recipe you made!
UMMM so back on the whole topic of posting food. Wonder if we should do a hybrid of BOTH. Since the BT log does not post WHAT you ate...just calorie breakdown. I personally think it would be good to see what people are eating, i think its helpful. There are people on here that I like to get ideas from, and also the thought of someone KNOWING what I am putting in my mouth holds me accountable. SO what if we do a hybrid of what Tanya has in mind AND log cals. In that case, Tanya and others who use sites could do their list and just type in calories OR do it in BT nutrition too. OR you can type your food list AND have BT nutrition logger calculate for you.
Thoughts?
EX:
BF: Kashi 1c and Skim = 210c
SN: String cheese and apple = 200c
OR
BF: Kasi 1c and Skim
SN: String cheese and apple
ppk.com - Post punk kitchen. It's a website by the well-known authors of "Vegan With a Vengance." Vegan really isn't that scary, and if you really must you can add cheese. Veganism is super blog friendly as well.
Thanks! Come get your gym. :D (Seriously, j/k. We won't be decking the yard until May at the earliest so you've got time...)
I am willing to post the food, amount, calories and Fat/Carb/Pro ratio for the day.  Just not through BT's thingy.
