Has anyone ever experienced pain in the ligament on the back of their knee while riding.  It is the one on the back towards the outside that kind of sticks out when your knee is bent.  I am thinking it is a bike fit problem.  I plan to get it checked today.  I had a planned hour and a half trainer ride today but cut it off after 30 minutes because of the pain.  I went for a 2 mile jog after and had no pain during or after.  The pain only occurs during the ride and typically goes away once I stop pedaling.  Any suggestions other than checking the bike fit?  Thank you.

Hmmm... I'm no doctor, but my first inkling is to wonder whether your seat is too high, causing you to overextend.  They should definitely be able to help you during your bike fit.

Do you have any swelling associated with it?  I was having pain there when I tore my meniscus and had a ton of swelling.

I would get bike fit checked out first and if you're still having problems get it checked out by a doc.

Yes, I would look into getting a bike fit.  Very much worth the money.  There could be many causes, some have already been mentioned.  Seat height, cleat position, pedal stroke (i.e. wobbly knees), etc.

Went to my LBS to get my bike fit checked at as it turns out, the seat may have been a little high.  They fitted me once before when I originally had my aerobars installed, but now that I have settled comforatably in them, my measurements have changed.  She lowered my saddle but left the distance from the stem the same.  I got home and jumped back on my trainer and only had a little pain, which I think was lingering from earlier.  I'm ready to roll.  Thanks for the input.
