Well when are we getting together as a group and doing the first ride? I know it is premature with the weather and all, but might as well start planning!

I'm in - I have dog classes on Tuesdays - so that's the only day I can't.  My weekends are free and I could technically be in Windsor/Essex by 5pm if I really push it during the week.

We should rotate around to each persons favourite home route.

Sounds good. I have a nice flat route with few stops and little traffic along Lake Erie that I usually bike and I'd love company on weekend long rides, but if someone has a route with some hills I'd like to join you. The hills at Muskoka last year ate my lunch.

I'm looking forward to riding other people's rides ... I just tend to ride around country roads... nothing exciting.

I agree with Dave - he has a really nice bike route!  I have a good County Road route that is 25 km out and back (Gesto Road).  Traffic is not very busy.  Anytime on Saturdays, Sunday afternoons, some weekday nights are the good for me.

Also, keep in mind that we should get a few open water swims in.  I loved the Colchester Harbour swims last summer.  The Leamington Tri is my first in June, so I will want to get out late May, early June.

My route is the same as the Belle River Triathlon

Anyone been out yet?...I've been outside 3 times in the last week for about an hour each time.

Saturday morning sounds great for me. I will be in Windsor because I get off work at 8:00AM, I don't care where we leave from.
Just have be home by Noon so my ride will have to end by 11:30ish.

Let me know when and where!
Looks like the weather should be good high of 52 and low winds so far.

I can do 9 or 10am in Belle River. Do you want to meet at the Waterfront? I am looking for an hour ride.

Sounds good.

We'll meet in the parking lot @ 9:30 near the water park, and go for an hour ride.
Right where the transition for the BR triathlon is.

I'm definitely in for group rides... I work 2 Saturdays a month, but Sundays are always good options for me.

I'm training for Ironman Wisconsin in September, so the longer the distance the better.

Hey! I'm in if it's okay ... I want to get out on the new bike!  I don't want to slow you down though ...

How do you get to the Waterfront?

You will not slow me down at all. I just want to get some time in "the position". The easy way to the water would be 401 to Belle river road and turn right going north. Belle river road should turn into South Street then go straight thru the light to 1st street. Go over the railroad tracks and you will be there. I hope Jeff will give confirmation on the directions.

Tim

It's going to be really chilly down by the water that early in the morning. I'm going to be a sissy and wait until the afternoon to ride, and also find a route away from the water. It's amazing how much the water affects air temperature this time of year. Last Friday when it was supposed to be 18 C I left work looking forward to a nice ride. It was 16 C leaving the parking lot at work and as I got closer to lake Erie it went down degree by degree until it was 8 C pulling in to my drive way. I'm sure the lake shore was 2-3 degrees less.

Saci, if you are doing Wisconsin I would like to get together with you for some rides. You are going to need to do some hills to get ready for WI and I really need to do more hills this year in preparation for Muskoka. I drove up to London a couple of times last year to work on hills as their does not seem to be anywhere much closer that has hills to work on. I have a friend just south of London who is training for Timberman, and I drive up and ride her route with her when I can on weekends. I lived in Madison for a couple of years so I can appreciate what you are in for

Yup that's the way to go follow Br road all the way down to the lake Straight through!

Kind of funny at the 401 it is Cnty RD 27 at 42 it is Belle River road, after the light it is First street , over the tracks it is called Lake street.
