Subject: No longer a crash virgin. Today was my second day out on a real bike. It was such a gorgeous morning, I was SO happy, even though it was a lot harder than I thought it would be (those hills look a lot smaller from my car ) I was really feelin' fine. I thought, "Wow, so this is what it feels like to be able to just go do something fun without getting too worried about my fitness...." Then I crashed. For no reason that I could see. It was like I was really tired and wasn't paying attention and suddenly I was on the road with my bike on top of me. My knee is torn up pretty badly, and my bicep took a real hard poke from the handlebar, but I got up pretty quick and came home. (not that I am tough, bc I am the biggest wuss ever when it comes to pain tolerance, but I was pretty close to home... )
I am glad I got this inevitable first digger out of the way, and I am glad no cars were around and I am glad I wasn't going very fast, and I am glad I was wearing long sleeves and my helmet.
And the sun is still out, and I hope this burn heals up quickly because I need to go get revenge on that road!
