It'll be my first, including my first OWS so I'll go with this:

swim: goal not drown (preferably in under 30 min)
bike: goal 1:40
run: goal 59 minutes

I'll add 5 minutes for transitions as complete guess.

I guess I'm shooting for a 3:15.  That's not TOO bad for my first, right?  Right?  Ok, I know I'm slow.

RAS26 - I'm with you. This is my first Olympic (was supposed to be my second, stupid Annapolis) and I'm just trying to get across the finish line in one piece. I am doing Eagleman in a few weeks and figure it I can survive this hilly course I can surly do that flat one despite the added length.

GOAL - Finish
GOAL - Have Fun
GOAL - Want to do this again

I agree with "PennState" (although I hate PSU!) :-) that those goals are completely fine.  Enjoy the race, have fun, and soak in the entire experience!!  I bet you're addicted after it's all said and done!

Alright --- I'm in ....

Swim - 21:00
Bike - 1:11:00
Run - 45:30
Transitions - 4:00

Total time ---- 2:22:00

These are all my "ideal" splits ---- Obviously any improvements will be great but I'm throwing these out there ---- we'll see what happens.

Thanks!  I certainly hope I'm addicted and still excited when I finish, because Eagleman will be my second race ever, less than a month later!!  It is funny to think, though, that many of you will be done and cramming down cookies or something as I head into T2.  That's ok though, it means more people to cheer me on when I finish.  :-)

My goal is around yours but I don't even start til 8:03 so I'm sure that everyone will be done well before me and will have already left.  I think you'll enjoy the race it is well done and tons of support on the run course.

Glad to hear that there are some people out there with times similar to what I'm thinking I'll have. Those guys were getting me worried! 2 hours, yikes!

OK Fred and Rick - best bike split gets a 6 pack of beer from the other two?

Conditions: Fred and I can both race and no major mechanical issues (including blown tires).

How about that or the best improvement from last years time!

I just took a look at my swim wave and I'm swimming with some 240 other people!  Jesus!

Just picked up my packet and have a question.  This iPico timing band is just the band with the orange connector, right?  There was no other chip in my packet and i didn't ask while i was there.

I don't really care when I finish as long as I improve over my previous time in swim/bike/overall (shouldn't be a problem) and I'm not injured.  That's not too much to ask for. :-)

I am freaked out about this course.  From the hill to get out of transition and mud in my speedplays to a bike course that doesn't let up, to a brutal run course.   So, really not knowing what to expect, these are my goal times (which are actually a little bit faster than i was thinking a few days ago).

S 27
B 1:45
R 67

I'm just going to go have a good time out there.  And if it's as brutal as everyone made it out to be, I'm just gonna laugh at how much I'll be hating it.  And if it's not, then I will be pleasantly surprised.  This is the first time I'm going to race in a wetsuit, should be a comedy routine in itself for me!

One more for the weekend-warrior pack:

S: 27 best, 29 happy
B: 1:18 best, 1:27 happy (wish I had a chance at that Guinness! Looks like I'll buy my own.)
R: 52 best, 55 happy

throw in 4-5 on transitions and I'm looking at 2:41 - 2:56. Really depends on my legs holding up and not cramping on the run - been a problem lately...End of the day, I just want to finish with a smile on my face and beat my friend. Isn't that what it's all about?

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

This will be my first tri, so my "main" goal is to enjoy and soak in the experience.  But others are:

Swim: Not drown, and if that's accomplished, 32min
Bike: 1:25.
Run: 42min

Giving 4-5 min for transitions, I guess that means I'm shooting for a 2:39.  We'll call in sub 2:40

Don't want to jinx it, but hoping for sub-3 hours along these lines:

Swim: 30 min.

Bike: 1:25

Run: 58

Transitions: 5 min.

I'm not sure about everyone else but I think we are going to be okay.  I'm thinking its going to be a 40% chance of rain at the end.

Should be a little like today but hopefully clearing up nicely.
