Pre-race routine:

Setup transition area?!? (Duh) Be nervous
Event warmup:

Run 2 miles. Be more nervous.
Swim
  • 03m 55s
  • 250 yards
  • 01m 34s / 100 yards
Comments:

Had to slap several heels to get around. My Dad still says I wasn't aggressive enough. What do I do to be aggressive enough? Swim over the top of everyone?!?
What would you do differently?:

Maybe try to improve on my lung capacity in the swim. My bike was pretty painful because I was a little short on oxygen coming out of T1.
Transition 1
  • 00m 39s
Comments:

I was really pleased with this transition. Of course, the transition from swim to bike has always been my best.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Bike
  • 26m 33s
  • 9 miles
  • 20.34 mile/hr
Comments:

A very strong bike, if I could have just had a decent run I would have won my age group. The cornering for me wasn't as good as I have been doing with my cycling team (sigh). It's going to take a while for me to become a daredevil on the bike. I'm trying!
What would you do differently?:

Take corners faster. I dunno, go faster?!?!?!? DUH!!!
Transition 2
  • 00m 42s
Comments:

Great transition. I didn't lose any time here.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Run
  • 21m 59s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 07m 04s  min/mile
Comments:

I am still banging my head on the wall about this run. I know I could have pushed harder, I just didn't. I've figured out that if I had run a 20:30 min 5k, I would have won my age group. Arrrrrgh!
What would you do differently?:

Run MUCH faster.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough willpower. GRRRRRRR!!!

Event comments:

I enjoyed this race, I just wish I could have run faster. I am so going to get it next year!!!!!!! Shooting for top three!
