I read the past race reviews and people mentioned that about 250M of the swim was in shallow water - this year it says the start is in the channel between seneca lake and seneca river. Does this mean the start is in deep water? |

So here's a total newbie question: What's the deal with the deep water start -- as in, how do you get into the deep water in the first place... and then what? Do you just hang around and tread water until the race starts? |

Champion 11641 Fairport, NY | Subject: RE: mini-Mussel Sprint Triathlon : Official Thread This is a new swim course, so I can't answer specifically for this race but deep water starts typically have you enter the water by a beach or boat ramp then swim to a designated area and tread water for a few minutes before the start. I was anxious about my first deep water start but it turned out to be no big deal at all. |
