Subject: Looking for Tri shop with multiple selection of bikes
I'm in the market for my first Tri bike and need a good shop that has something more than Cervelo's to ride and try out.   I live in Ocala and would be willing to travel to Tampa, Orlando, or Jacksonville if the shop has a good selection of Tri bikes.

I went over to Daytona and Plan B cycling shop today and all they had in a 56 were Cervelo and Felt.   I rode the new Felt B16 and it was ok.   I then rode a P2C and really liked it alot.   I was almost close to buying, but i still wanted to shop around a bit.   I'd really like to try maybe a Specialized, Trek, QR, Blue, Kuota, etc.   I didn't want to have buyers remorse after only trying the Felt and Cervelo.

Anyone know a shop that has a nice selection of bikes?

Anyone heard of or been to St. John's Cycle in Sanford?  Been doing alot of web searching and it's a fairly new shop that carries Blue, Look, and Scott.

Chainwheel drive in Palm Harbor or Clearwater is good.  If you get to South Tampa look at Flying Fish Bikes (formally Dud Thames).

Chainwheel drive is very good.  I have bought 2 bikes there.  They carry QR and trek for sure not sure what else.    University bikes in in Tampa on fletcher ave just off I4.  They have QR and a bunch of other bikes.  If you go to the CWD there is a tri shop near there as well... tri3racing but the bikes might be limited.   Also check out Outspokin bikes.  They carry crvelos and giant  not sure what else.   All those shops are around teh Tampa/clearwater area.  I HIGHLY reccomend calling all the bike shops ahed and saying I want to try ____ _____ bikes in ____ size so you don't have to schlep back and forth an bunch of times.

Live and work in Orlando and there are some good shops in a pretty small area.

I bought my Tri bike from Locomotion in Winter Park. They also have one in Baldwin Park about 15 min apart. They carry Cervelo, Specailize and Felts plus. I bought a Kuota there I like.

I also looked at Davids Bike World in Lake Mary and on SR 436 in Casselberry/Winter Park. They carry Treks etc if you like that.

Also, looked at Orange Cycle on Edgewater. They have a lot of Cannondales.

locomotion (Winter Park) and david's world (5or6 sores) are great picks, Chainwheel Dr has some stuff and is very personal too.  Also, visit the sponsor booths at the races.

If your a trek fan (like me) David's world recently opened two trek concept stores (Tampa and Clearwater), if you go to either one, bring a bib or a mop cuz you'll be salivating.

I will check out the other stores posted here.

Chainwheel is good, they also have Specialized (I bought my 2008 Transition there).  While in Pinelles County you can swing by Florida Bicycle Sports in St. Pete and get Felt, Orbea and a few others.

well just got back from Clearwater and my NEW Specialized Transition from Chainwheel Drive!!  first off let me say the service at Chainwheel is second to none.  bar none the best buying experience for a major purchase i have ever had.   mad props to those guys.

yesterday i rode the Specialized, Kuota, Elite, and QR bikes.    i then went over to a Trek shop and rode 2 different Trek TTX bikes.   i then went and rode a Cervelo at another shop just to make sure i had a feel for that bike.   so all in all i rode Felt, Cervelo, Specialized, Trek, Kuota, Elite, and QR.  after all said and done, i have no doubt the Specialized is the best bike for me.   i slept on it last night and went back and bought the Transition.

best of all, Chainwheel's fit pro happened to be there today and made time to fit me.   my wife and kids went shopping and i got fitted so i didn't have to come back to Clearwater for the fit.   after the fit i took it around the block and man i felt like a rocket ready to explore.   i can't wait to take it out on the road for a ride.  like night and day compared to my roadie with clip on aero bars.

now i gotta save a bit for some nice race wheels to complete the package.   will post some porn pics tomorrow so keep an eye out.   i'm as thrilled as i've been about a purchase in years.

thanks a ton for all the advice and suggestions.   i'll give a shout out to Chainwheel again for anyone looking for a new bike.   guys there are top notch.   i'll do more business with them in the future.

just for the fun of it I went a trek store in Lakeland (98N) that has the big ad on I-4 and have to admit I was surprised... they're more into roadie stuff but they have a couple of Trek and LeMond TT/Tri bikes there.
