Registration, bike handler and/or catcher, finish line catcher - wait, they're ALL worthwhile!

Since I'll be one of many Donkai, and perhaps BTers, racing this year, I thank you for volunteering!!

I've been a run Marshal, bike handler and bike catcher, finish line catcher, registration person.  There's a few that I know that worked the aid station, T1/T2 assistants, and wetsuit stripper.

You'll have a great day!

As long as you sign up at the same time and when you get your assignment, talk with the team captain.

How crappy of a job is food delivery?

I am doing a HIM the day before so I'm worried I won't be able to move.

Thanks in advance to all of you volunteering!

The Capitol run aid station is also a great place to work.  You are within a couple of blocks walk to the finish line.  The aid station Captain has served every year since the start of IM Wisconsin and is a personal friend of ours.  You get a free parking pass for a ramp close by so you can work and then go watch at the finish line without having to worry about parking.

The bike special needs in Verona is another great place to work.

Heck, every job is fun!  Enjoy the day and be careful, the Ironman bug might just bite!

Dang. I just found out my husband is playing a wedding "some time" on Ironman Sunday. *sigh* That means I can't commit to anything cause I don't know when I will have kids and when I won't. Bah!

Totally self centered question, what's the deal with volunteering and then registering, do you have to do a minimum number of shifts (not that I'm planning on doing the bare minimum, but want to make sure I sign up for enough)? If you sign up on Monday are you guaranteed a slot?

If you volunteer for any shift, you get a wristband. The wristband is what gets you priority sign up on Monday. And, yah, if you sign up on Monday, you've got your spot. (Well, when you pay anyway.)
