Next swimmer passed me but then kept stopping near wall.

First time with road shoes. Old mountain bike shoes are easier to run in.
I should have had the shoes clipped in and run in stocking feet.

I was breathing so heavy that it took me too long to tie my shoes.
What would you do differently?:

I should have unstrapped my shoes and slid my feet out before hopping off bike. Lost focus on a rookie mistake even though this was my 4th tri.

I took me almost a mile before I felt like I regained my stride.
What would you do differently?:

figure out a way to stretch my quads, calfs, and hams while still on the bike

A little bit of stretching.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lost my focus/concentration. Maybe I was too worried about how my two sons were doing since this was their first tri. Felt I should have done better on the bike and run. Swim was OK but still my weakest leg.
