![]() Swim
Comments: At about 150 meters, I was all over the person in front of me. I felt bad, because I was on her feet quick and couldn't avoid them. I know it was bottlenecked a little, but I think she might have felt tired, cause she let me go....or I was a jerk. Then at the next length, same thing and next guy let me pass. Passed 1 or 2 more then came to final wall, hoped out and took off towards T1. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Good first pool experience. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: A nice long jog from pool up the hill, through transition and to my bike. No wetsuit, so socks, shoes, shirt on and grabbed helmet. Took some sips of drink, glasses on and I was off. What would you do differently?: Nothing ![]() Bike
Comments: My goal was under 40 mins and I did it, so that is a plus. I am still pushing towards that 20mph mark, but not quite there yet. Need more tits. First time with clip on aerobars and I spent about 50% of the race in them. Passed a lot of people, so that was nice. What would you do differently?: Just more time in the saddle. I will be able to do that now that the weather is getting nicer. Plus my bike to work day on friday will give me some time. Its a start ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Took my time here. Let heart rate settle and stretched for a min. Didn't want those tight hamstrings and calves effect me. What would you do differently?: More bricks and I will be ready to go. Time was decent though. ![]() Run
Comments: Calves were like rocks for 1st mile, which was uncomfortable. I was just waiting for them to cramp. Then I talked to a few runners and got into a groove. My I didn't check my miletimes, but I am guessing mile 1 was around 9, mile 2 at a little over 8 and mile 3 under 8, which is great. I am very happy with that since last season, I was surely a 10 min mile guy. Want to get down to that 7/8 min mile with a solid bike. What would you do differently?: More running. Training has helped. ![]() Post race

Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 16/27
Woke up at 4:30, ate pb&j and a banana. Drank some Amino Vital, got the bike on the car and headed down the road. The race was only 20 mins from the house, which was very nice. Got to the race site at 5:30 and parked on 29, cause Bull Run Elem. parking lot was packed. Walked there.
Walked to the Transition and got stuff ready. I know race start was 0630, with Special Olympic athletes first, and I expected that all to take a while, so I took my time. Walked around, getting my transition area ready. For some reason, the first slot was open, so I took it. Then someone came over and said, be at the pool ready in 10 mins. So I hurried back to get my timing chip and finished setting stuff up.
