Anyone else on here doing St. Andrews Triathlon next month?

It'll be my first Triathlon and I'm really looking forward to it.

Nope, got another event planned to close to this one this year.

It is a good event though, and will be much better organized since Piranha Sports is managing it.

It is a good event though, and I would do it again if I didn't have other plans.

I am doing the St Andrews sprint tri on June 19 as my first tri. How is it? Is the water deep or can you touch the bottom?

It's a good first tri; it was also my first.

The water is deep, other than the water start and along the shore-line you will not be able to stand up.  Also, when you come out of the water, it is a climb up a grass hill, then a 100 yrd run to transition.  The sooner you can get out of the water, the better, because as the grass on the hill becomes more and more saturated with water, the harder it is the climb.

Also, the run is a cross-country run, so I would recommend you get on the trails (if you haven't already) to prepare for the roots and un-even ground you'll be running on.

Good Luck.

I am doing the St Andrews Sprint Tri as my first one.  I am very excited -- any tips or helpful hints for  first timers are greatly appreciated
