Run
Comments: Mile 1 9:24 (nice and easy thru the crowd) Mile 2 10:03 (finding my pace) Mile 4 9:48 (I PASSED PEOPLE!!!) WHOOOP WHOOP YAY ME Mile 0.2 1:48 (it was supposed to be a 5 K but no way did it take me 1:48 to run a tenth of a mile. Even I am not that slow and I had picked it up the last mile) It was on a narrow trail. We pissed off a lot of people on bikes. Its probab;y not typical to have 300 people running together on this trail. I have walked a TON this week and my shins haev been killing me. I had no expectations for this I just wanted to get in a run. I was shocked the first mile was so fast because I just was going with the flow. Passed the guy in golf shorts around mile 1, passed the other guy in golf atire about 1/2 way. Passed the chiquas who could run in 100 yard spurts. After a slower second mile I tried to pick it up AND I DID:)That never happens. What would you do differently?: I'm happy with it. I had no expectations and I ran well for me :) Post race
Warm down: Got some G2 and rode the bus back to the hotel. There was an older lady who was clearly anorexic who ran about 3 miles before the start of the race who was pissed that there was no water and only gatorade after the race. I'm sure she didn't want to consume the 20 calories in the mini bottle of G2. What limited your ability to perform faster: I'm not much of a runner. I am pleased with my result. My legs actually felt tons better running than walking so its all good Event comments: Its a fun thing associated with the meeting. I particpated in that spirit :) Last updated: 2009-05-29 12:00 AM

Got up and rode the bus to the race site. I find 5Ks intersting. THer are teh serious people who want to win and they are going thru their bizarre (to me anyway) little mechinations of high kicks and little bitty short strides and are dressed like the are competing in the olympics. Then there are the people who got dragged there by there friends. The ones who clearly have not trained and don't run. The ones who actually run and train. The people who are going to sprint the first mile then walk the last 2.
nada. I stretched a little
