Subject: Removing hub from wheel?
I'm getting a new power tap but need to return my old hub to Sarris. Any recommendations how to get hub out?  How about how to remove free hub body?

I have cassette off. I thought wire cutter would work, spokes are to tough to cut.

Going to have a new wheel built once I get the new hub back...so my wheel  I have I'm not planning on using.

Slow way ..... use a spoke wrench and loosen up all the nipples.  If you wanted to save the rim, you need to do this is a methodical fashion loosening each one a few turns as you go around so you don't warp the rim.

If you are in "F it" mode, you cut them out with a big set of wire cutters and toss the old rim and cut spokes.

Why do you need to pull the free hub?  I'd personally make Saris do it unless they are asking you too.

To take the freehub off you will need a big azz allen wrench and it gets inserted into the inner part of the body and twists out.  You'll have to pull the axle though typically ......

I want to keep it as it is new and I don't want to pay again for a new one.

I'm picking up my bike at the bike shop tomorrow maybe I'll get their help as they are building my new wheel.
