Subject: Aerobar Aero water bottle
I just purchased a Profile desigh aerodynamic water bottle that fits between aerobars online. Does anyone have any experience with these. It is kind of weird there is no cap for the bottle, it just comes with this yellow mesh looking stuff that I think you roll up and stuff through the opening. I am confused. any help is appreciated.

the yellow net is to be stuffed inside the bottle. that will keep your drink from spilling and bouncing around. the rubber band goes around the bottle and then loops over the aero bar and onto the rim of the bottle.

That sounds pretty strange to me; why not just have a tube sticking out to sip out of?

you should have a tube that came with the bottle. One will be hard plastic and the other soft plastic that you cut when you figure out your aero position and what a comfortable drinking position is for you. There should be a addition hole in the top of the bottle for the straw to go into. Did it come with instructions? I just bought the jet stream aero waterbottle and it was a little confusing on the instruction sheet.

I got one, and love it. I don't have to worry about reaching down for the water, and finding the cage back again. The yellow mesh slows water down from spilling out when you are riding. Roll the mesh into a ball or doughnut. It starts as a long tube and you start at one end and role the inside over the outside, kinda like rolling down socks. It also allows you to ad more water, or other drink while on the go. When I go for a long ride, I will use that and bring a large bottle in my cage. When the aero bottle is empty, I will refill it with the other one and I am good to go.

I saw some at races where the drink is kept under the seat of the bike, and a long tube goes all the way to the front for drinking. I guess it is even more aero.

your bottle top is kept open so that during races when you take a bottle from volunteers out on the course (usually olympic and longer races), you just open it up and dump into your aero bottle.
