Pre-race routine:

Woke up early at the hotel (4am ish) and hit the shuttle to the start line. Marla had some pre-race jitters but nothing unusual.
Event warmup:

Stood in line at the porto potty. Once out of line, pretty much made our way to the corral.

Comments:

Tough run. Think we might have tapered a little early in our training as it was almost a month between our 20 miler and the race. Marla started to struggle at about mile 6 and pretty much gutted it out the rest of the way. Pretty damn proud of her....I think that was one of the toughest things she has done. Carol surprised us at Mile 12 as we did not know she was coming out to the race. Lots of friends and family with signs and noise makers.....nice job rocking the route.
What would you do differently?:

Not sure....maybe taper later in training?
Post race
Warm down:

finished and Marla had a little breathing episode again....need to get that checked out. Got some water, cytomax, banana, etc then reunited with Carol, Jolene, Karen, Shasha, Ted, Jaime, Stosh, Sarah all who came out to watch the race and had a beer. Jolene's friend Bob was also intricate in Rocking the Route....thanks to everyone.

Performance: Bad
Course: Course was a little hilly but the major thing was the 2 mile stretch on HWY 163. It was running on a stiff slant and uphill, then sharp downhill...tough on the legs. Some sharp hills that didn't last long but were tough at the end.
