Are they good and worth it? I'm about a 2 min/100m swimmer, lookin to go down to 1.40/100m, any other advice on how i can do that. I have pretty good endurance, not too much speed.

If you are comfortable in the water and swimming 2:00/100m, then I would suggest that you would be better off investing in some coaching and/or a masters program.

TI is great for adult onset swimmers who aren't comfortable in the water but there are very few swimmers who will get fast using TI techniques.

thx, that is what i thought, should i just focus on drill sets and "100's" when on my own? or keep doing 500m-1000m long sets?

I swim with a coach on the deck so I do whatever he tells me

In general though, I would rarely swim more than 500m and instead break things up into sets instead of straight swimming.  You can have a look back through my logs for some of the workouts that we do but here is a typical example (from yesterday):

200 choice (at least 50% non-free)
300 drill as 50's of dead man's float, log roll, 12 second drill, one arm, 3 phase scull, shark fin power drill
3x100 as 100's of pull, kick, swim
2x{
300 pull (buoy between ankles)
500 as 100 drill, 150 long, strong and technical, 150 descend by 50's, 100 kick}
cool down

I bought the DVD and book when I first started training the beginning of the year.  I had never swam laps before in my life and felt I needed it if I was ever going to make it through the swim.  I took away some of the principles but didn't go too hardcore TI with all the drills and such.  I'm still way undertrained in the swim, but I made it middle of the pack in my first tri a couple weeks ago.  I don't think they would help you too much.  If you really want it, I'll give it to you if you send me a postage paid envelope with your address filled out.  You just have to promise to pass it on to someone else down the road when your done with it.  PM me if you want it...but I don't think it'll help that much.  I'm in that 1:40ish area but I know I just don't swim enough at all and that is what is ultimately holding me back.  I think I've gotten what I can from TI at this point and would benefit more from a coach if I get more serious about improving my swim.
