Is there or should there be a difference?

I'm speaking specifically about a possible difference in LT between the treadmill and running outside or the trainer and biking outside.

I seem to find it 'easier' to hit LT outside and hold it than when on the trainer or dreadmill.  Maybe by a difference of about 3 to 5 bpm.

Yup, a few reasons.

Treadmill you're not going anywhere, tougher mentally to really push.
You're also not be cooled by the air, unless you're running a few fans.

A lot of people will see 10 watt higher FTP outside....

The tread also takes away some of your work.  You don't have to propel yourself forward because the belt is moving for you.

I'm speculating based on RPE, actually...

I never did an actaul LT test inside and outside to compare the two.

HOWEVER, it seems every time I run inside, hitting 183 (my field tested running LTHR) is difficult and not a pace I feel like I can keep up for a 10k.  However, running at a HR (inside) at about 180 seems to match the percieved effort level for my LT test.

Similar for the trainer.

SO, the question is, is there a difference between indoor and outdoor LT for some reason?  Has there been tests that others have done to determine this?  If I were a betting man, based on the conditions I run/ride in, I have a gut feeling that my LTHR would be lower if I tested indoors rather than compared to tests done outdoors.  It 'seems' in over the span of years of workouts, that I can maintain a higher HR ouside than in - and I would assume that would be the same for an LT test since there is nothing special about an LT test other than it's a high intensity workout.
