No. 597. We're unsure about where we're staying. Likely the Hampton Inn Bricktown.

#876 and only 19 ladies in my age group - at least in the general entry. Seems low.
There are 8 more ladies in my age group on the "qualifiers" list. Wonder if they will split the qualifiers from the general entries in the results?

Oh, and Hampton Bricktown is where it's at.

No. 745...we are staying at the Executive Inn on Northwest Expressway, only a couple of miles from transition area, $53/night, and the rooms have whirlpools in them--nice!

I have an unrational fear of hotel whirlpools.

I think body marking would be a great way to do this.
Or a custom-made shirt. Wonder if you can custom make technical tees?

We had some made at runningbanana.com. They were a pretty good quality too.

My fears are just subrational, not unrational. I have to say I do have a very very real fear that I'm going to be BOP in this sucka. With all the people who qualified -- that means there's gonna be lots of fasties out there. Ltos of sub-5 folks. That's going to kind of suck to see the results. As long as I set a PR that's all that matters, I reckon.

I agree.  I actually like watching the speed demons- gives me ideas on how I can get better.  This is my first 1/2, so I'm trying to set a benchmark going forward. I've got a goal in mind and I'm hoping my run will be good enough that I can smash it.

Anyone here know about Dick Dime and his accident? If so, I'm thinking about a cheer-me-up for him on behalf of the Redman racers. PBR's come immediately to mind. I am thinking of perhaps doing a toast for him after we're all done- with PBR's, of course. A picture with a quote of something like "Richard, you inspire all of us to kick - this PBR is for you!" Thoughts?

That'd be cool!
I met Dick Dime at Ironman Kansas this year... I even bought him a 12-pack of PBR for the camp site. Great guy!
So will there be a BT meet up? Those are pretty hard to plan. Wish we had a tent or something. I know I'll be hanging out at my tri club's tent after the race... if anyone wants to come say hi I'll be at the Kansas River Valley Triathlon Club's tent. Last year it was on the red carpet finish line...

Lisa, if you guys have a cooler and a lot of ice I'll be happy to supply the PBR's. Fortunately DD doesn't drink Guinness or Heineken! LOL You'll be able to see me, I'll be the really tall guy carrying cases of PBR on Friday during the course preview. Also staying @ the Hampton Bricktown. Maybe we should plan a meetup time or something? Sounds like a few hundred of us will be there....

If anyone is interested, there will be a Iron Prayer service located near the transition area.  Here is the flyer.

Hahaaaa...
If you had a tent on the finish line I'd share my time. There is plenty of Lisa to go around. (wait...).
But if it was anything like last year, I will need a place close to the finish to sit for awhile.

Nevermind. The whole `BT Tent' thing never goes over as well as planned.

Hi All!  This is CitySky/Celeste in OKC - I'll be volunteering at this race and have a question for those doing the half:

What would you like at a run aid station?  Any particular snack etc.?   Assistance is legal if it comes from an official volunteer.     Last time I volunteered a race I had everything I could think of, including mints and bandaids and Enduralytes  and Fig Newtons specially requested by a BTer.  (The Enduralytes went like candy -- it was hot that day!)

Anything you might need that won't be regularly provided?  I say this mainly for the 1/2 Iron folks because I'll be there only through early afternoon - will head out with TexasMPGal sometime after she's finished. Don't know what mile they will have me at yet, but will post if I find out.

Coca cola!
Tootsie rolls (insert 2Goggs joke here). But for real - mini tootsie rolls rock in a race.

Hey all,
Longtime lurker here, just wanted to say hello and good luck to everyone doing Redman. I'll be there representing the East Coast (Hartford, CT) since my sister and brother-in-law live in OKC. It's my first 1/2 and I've heard nothing but positive things about the race. I'm sure I'll see some of you out on the course...you can't miss me, I rock a bright pink tri top and shorts with matching bar tape on my P2C Cool
Have a great race everyone!!!

Logistically speaking, can anyone give me a ride to the race the morning of the event?  I'm staying @ the Hampton Inn Bricktown.  I'll gladly get up @ any time and I'm willing to pay for gas

Question for those who have done this before?
- Are racks first come first serve, or are they individually numbered/assigned?

Just the run. You'll get helmet and bike frame number stickers in your packet Friday.
There is a ton of information on the web site, including the Athlete Guide where most of these questions are answered.

See ya'll in a few days!

Forecast for Saturday is 74 degrees with scattered thunderstorms. I don't usually pray, but I am this week for good weather. First half, been training since January and I would be devastated if this thing got cancelled.
