I will be there signed up for the 100 miler send me a pm and I will give you my cell number, I am hoping to have a group of at least 5 or 6 so it will be a shared torture instead of an individual one. I am large 6'2" 220lbs and a wonderful windbreak. By the way what speed would we like to average?  I will be staying in Lawton because I found a great greek restraunt there last year and my wife who doesn't ride also doesn't camp.

I'll be up there with my Texas Tough Riders team. We have riders of all different speeds. Some of us are doing the 50 miler, and some of us are doing the 100 miler (me!) We're also staying up in Lawton. What is the name of the greek restaurant? Maybe we'll check it out! Let me know if you want to hook up with us and I'll send you my cell number.

I will also be heading up on Friday morning. We will be leaving Houston at around 6am. 3 of us will be staying at a hotel about 2 miles from the start.  I can't wait for the ride...... Saturday can't get here fast enough.

Weather looks great as well.

High of 93 with a realfeel of 92. (equals no humidity) with winds out of the NNE at 11mph.

Anyone else doing the half mary trail run on Sunday?  It is supposed to be a great course!  I don't expect to set a PR after 100 miles on Sunday, but I am excited to see what I've got.

I'll be there!  This is my first time doing HHH and I decided to go for the 100k so I could go thru the base.  At least for my first time...next year I will do the 100 to say I have done it!  I am super excited...I even convinced my parents to do the ride!  We are going up early Friday morning.  Cool

I am not a ferrari by any means, but can plug along pretty well - as long as it's under 20 mph, I am game. BTW - there is no "too slow" for me to want to ride with - I'm in for the joy of the day and meeting new people.

hhh virgin here.  any strategery i should know about the ride?  I've done some fairly long rides already, several 100k road rallies, first day of MS150 was around 80-85 miles.  My plan is to take it easy (around 17-18mph) up to hells gate, and then see what I have left for the last ~2 hours.  Looks like the weather gods are being kind as well this year, should be in the low to mid 70s at the start, and upper 80s at the finish.

I may hit the dinner, but I don't eat pasta, so it'd be a social call.

Can we all try to hit up a spot to meet prior to the race, or on Friday evening? Would be fun to ride as a group and take some pics. Any thoughts? It's chaos in the morning, but off the peripheral edges are many places we could all hook up.

Hey ya'll, I'll be there with a couple of friends. But, if you see a red head in a Team Army Cycling yellow and black bike jersey and on a tri-bike (only have the tri-bike), say hi, cause it's me.

On my way to work in to work today (I work in Decatur), I passed two guys on bicycles and a truck following them with a sign on the back that said "Riding to Hell & Back" .... Obviously on their way to Wichita Falls, but would love to know where they started from!

Thought they were pretty awesome. Started my day off with some inspiration!

Were they in green and white jerseys?  If so, they might have been from Denton and been riding with The Bicycle Path.  They were going to host a ride to Whichita Falls today and back on Sunday called "To Hell and Back".

Congrats to everyone who participated in the ride today! What a great day to be out on the bike! Hope you all had as much fun as I did in the 100k! I can't get over how friendly everyone was from the staff to the participants. I was injured at tri last week so I was all bandaged up........the outpouring of concern, tips for treatment, and sharing of stories of similar injuries was truly incredible! Can't wait to do it again next year! Until then if anyone has suggestions for other cycling events in the North Texas area that you enjoyed I would appreciate the input. I would like to do another distance ride soon.

I passed the guys from Denton today when I was heading back to Fort Worth. Yesterday was fun, but my bike jacked me some. I could only ride in the big chainring, when I shifted to the small and then back up, it would throw my chain.

I've never seen such a bad start, 4 ambulances in the first 12 miles. Plus, the first 20 miles looked like a mine field of water bottles. Seriously, there were water bottles everywhere, especially in the first 10 miles. What was going on??? People need to practice this stuff before they try to do it on a 2-lane road with 14K other people.

Congrats to Wes from Plano who bagged his first century - shoot, his first ride ever over 42 miles. Impressive. Glad we got to ride it in together.

Hope we can get a group together for next year. I camped on the river right by the start and it was perfect. We could have a BT headquarters down there - only about 300 yards from MPEC.

I agree on the water bottle minefield...good grief they were everywhere the whole ride, but especially those first 20 miles.  Thankfully everyone seemed to be yelling "bottle" and pointing them out, but when they come out a little bit before you, not much to do. I hit one, but stayed the course, so that was good.

None of you BT'ers better be the ones I yelled out for tossing used gel packets on the road. My typical rebuke was "there's pockets for that!"

Had a pretty good ride, and the actual organized pace lines were, for the first time I've seen this year, friendly and let you know they were coming up on you.  Was fairly glad that the temps didn't live up to the name!

I put mine in my pocket and threw them out at the rest stop

Umm... I didn't "toss" my used gel packets, but one did fall right out of my hands while trying to get it in my mouth!  My mistake, and I didn't even get to taste it

I'm thinking I need to start further in the back and have a bag to pick up some of those bottles -- I saw lots of nice insulated camelbacks!

Brad, thanks for meeting up at mile 30 -- it was nice to ride most of the way with a fellow BT'er.  If I get to ride again next year, I plan on wearing a BT jersey and see how many people give a shout out.  Of course I would need to start up front or ya'll would never pass me
