Subject: Good PT in NYC ?

I am (finally) going to see a PT regarding my runner's knee. Does anyone have any suggestions for someone that knows how to properly diagnose the root of and apply treatments to injuries that "we triathletes" suffer from? Like, someone that can look at my running stride, or if I explain my bike setup he/she will know what's up?

Go see These people:

Madison Avenue Physical Rehabilitation & Wellness
274 Madison Avenue, Second Floor, New York, 10016
212-685-1666
www.nyprw.com

Tell them you want to see Wendy Rhodes.

I suffered from chronic calf problems for over a year. I went to two different Orthos and two different PTs before I found them in the NY Road Runners website. Wendy did a video gait analysis and diagnosed all kinds of problems in my stride that were contributing to the problem. She gave me tons of stretches and exercises and drills to fix the problem and I've been pain-free ever since. My only regret was not going to see them a year ago. I really can't say enough about them. Wendy, my PT is a runner and there's another PT who's a cyclist/triathlete who might be able to talk about your bike fitting with you.

Coincidentally, I too checked the NYRR site and decided on Wendy (before reading your post)!! Made sense logistically and insurance wise, but it's nice to have such a good endorsement. Good to hear you've recovered and thanks for the reply

That's good to hear. I finished my first half-iron on Sunday and, when it was over, my calf was the only part of me that didn't hurt, so she must have done something right.

NYPRW - the Madison Avenue one. I went to their office on Broadway and 57th and it was great. I also had runner's knee or patellar tendinitis and I healed great and didn't miss any races. I worked a lot on flexibility and strengthening my hips to support my knees better. Jeff Tedesco was who I worked with.

Tried to get in here-Apparently they don't accept my insurance.

Anyone know a good chiropractor in the same area?

I have a great Chiro that also does ART on the UWS. Dr. Williams on 73rd between broadway and west end. I had all kinds of issues, back, hip, knee, with a little chiro and a lot of ART and Graston I am now back running better than ever.  www.ny-chiropractors.com
