Spectating the Augusta 70.3

I was talking to my buddy about this race and since his gf lives in Augusta we decided to check the race out.  We've only done sprints so this is waaaay out of our league for now but we'd like to watch it (probably towards the finish or maybe transition area).  We were thinking of hanging out and kind of partying similar to how people do at the Peachtree Road Race.

Does anyone know if for an event like this if you can drink alcohol on the streets or if there is an area people hang out and party/tail gate?  Also what about grills on the sidewalks?  Do people do this stuff already?

And what area would you recommend watching?

By the way if you need a beer while you are running (or swimming if you are that good) then reach your hand out and you will have one.  Bu unfortunately the only kind of beer we have available is Free.  You bring us beer and we'll mace the leader.
