Is it faster then you use to be able to run it? Then yes. For an over all time it's faster then some but slower then some. Keep working hard

Same here.. that's about my 3 mile time.  What kind of heart rate are you seeing during a run like that?  I've slowed down in order to try to keep my heart rate lower.

According to my calculations, it works out to a sub 9-minute mile pace...faster than I could ever do it, that's for darn sure...and I'm not over 200lbs.

Cool, glad I am going in the right direction, that was the first time I had timed myself. The last 2 weeks I had increased my distance and at this new distance I feeling fairly comfortable.  So I tried with a little longer stride because I think mine is a little short for my size also took advantage of the downhills more with my stride as well.  I am a little sore this past few times running which I never get sore so seems like I am pushing myself just enough.  I don't have a heart rate moniter but I don't feel extremly winded at the end, tired but not exhausted. Next week I am going to increase my distance a little bit more.

I believe the golden rule is to not try to increase your mileage by more than 10% per week, so be aware of that.

As was said already, it's a great time if it's better than you could have done before.  I would be thrilled with that time personally.  This AM I had my best run to date, at exactly a 10 minute/mile pace.  In late Feb, I was around a 16 minute/mile pace.

Congrats on your best run to date!

Yeah my increases are have been fairly small. I just go a couple blocks more in a week if the week before I felt comfortable with the distance, next week the the weather is said to be 97 degrees all week so its going to be hard to try to increase in that heat. I may not, well see how I feel.
