Anyone doing the Massachusetts State Triathlon?

I've done it the last couple of years.  Do your hill training between now and June 26th.  Nice long hill at mile four and again on the second loop.  Well organized race, nice location, you will like it.

ooooh - our team was stating it was a flat race. Good to know there will be a long hill. I should do an elevation check on the course! Glad to hear it is well organized. Hoping to have a great time in the event. It will be my first tri - I signed up for the Oly.

I am wondering if a wetsuit is needed for the MA Triathlon or is it a personal preference?

I'm doing this race.  I've done a few sprint triathlons but, I have not done this race before.  I'm really looking forward to it.  I'm planning on wearing my wetsuit.  I think the weather is looking good so far, fingers crossed.  A friend of mine has done Max Performance races before and really likes them.  Good luck everyone!

Like I said, if you've got one wear it!  That water was not 72 degrees!  And the sign at mile 4 of the bike course that said "your almost done" was a load of crap as well! 

All kidding aside, another great race put on by max performance.

That sign was almost done for that monster hill that you had to ride up. That thing was not small!

I had a crap race, but I really enjoyed this course, beast of a hill and all! I'm looking forward to going back next year - it was great.

I did not wear my wetsuit and was happy about it - the water temp was just right for me. The ride was great and the hill seemed to be in line with what I ride here in CT where I live - but the run was awful - that turn around for the Oly race was ETERNAL - and the bumpy road!!!! Ugh - DId you guys do the sprint or the Oly - by the time the Oly came on the bike course, the runners from the Sprint group were out and I found I had to weave in and out of them - wish they had put a lane in place for that. When I came back from the bike, someone had racked their bike in my rack next to my things. ARGHHHHH

All in all though it was a  great race. Super nice people, and the wade in swim start was great for me.

I did the Oly and I also did NOT like the bike start with the Sprint runners all over the road as well. That was really dangerous, I thought, and easily fixable - just put a line of cones down the center to keep folks separated. Some runners were WAY over on our side of the road because they weren't really paying attention. Not good.

I wouldn't complain if they paved the roads before next years race either.

Totally agree Michelle! I had one runner get snippy with me because *I* was over the line on my bike while going around some runners. *sigh* what can you do! LOL! I still had a great time
