The race is a true Olympic distance this year with the mini sprint tri it on added as an event. In the years past it was a 1000 yd swim, 20 mile bike, and 5 mile run. Those are the old distances you are seeing.

A compression tri top will not be a parachute.

Mine is good and tight except at small of back, where pockets are, hence parachute feeling.

Huh - mine has small packets on the sides.  They are pretty tight.

BTW, won my AG in the swim yesterday.  Wore the top.   Cool

Course tip on the bike. On the outward leg to the bridge, the bike lane has some serious pot holes. I would advise riding in the road till you cross the bridge. The route back is not bad with only a couple small bumps. When you go over the bridge, you make a hard right turn at the bottom, make sure you scrub some speed going down, its a hard sharp turn.

Conditions seem pretty good.  What are the specifics on whether they will do the swim or not?  Not to rough out, but there is a red flag.

I'm curious too about tomorrow morning. The weather forecast doesn't look good. Might be getting rained on while on the bike. Would much rather run in the rain.

There were a couple of short burst (10 minutes each) of rain today, but nothing too bad.  The Island can be a bit wierd sometimes.  Sometimes the rain just doesn't push into the island at Gulf Shores.  I'm showing 40% chance of T-showers, which it's been all week.  It's been mostly sunny today with only the couple of short showers (no thunderstorms).  Hopefully it will get the rain out of it's system tonight and be ready for the morning.

This is exactly true, been forecast to rain all week and it hasn't much at all especially at the beach. The gulf looked great at 5:30 pm today. Swim to the bottom of the rollers if we have any.
