Has anyone ever done one of these? You have a preset time in the pool, on a stationary bike, and on a treadmill. The distance you cover determines performance. Sounds like a nice change. There is one in Tempe on August 23. $35 with LT membership, $40 without.

Not enticing to me. I don't really understand indoor tri's...they sound really boring to me...especially since you have to run on a treadmill and stationary bike....ewwwwwww. I also don't like that its by time...I'd rather do it by distance. But I love the gym...the one at Tempe is where I practically live!

Yeah, maybe boring compared to outdoor races but fun compared to just a training run on the tready this time of year... What other races are there right now that won't make you pass out in the heat?

Astrid, you should do it and report back to us. Maybe it's awesome and we would never know.  Either way it sounds like an interesting change.

I did one yesterday as a matter of fact. It was the Tri to help for epilepsy. It was kinda neat. 10 min swim, 30 min bike and 20 min run. I had lots of fun, it was different. Like the earlier comment, it was like training w/ a purpose.

For me it would just be a waste of money (that could be $35 worth of groceries!)..I have to be careful with choosing races based on finances...I can't just sign up for a bunch of races, wait till I have the funds...and than I choose the races I know I will enjoy the most, I know this would not be one. But not to say someone else wouldn't enjoy it...just not for me (I despise the treadmill and the stationary bike). The other races were mountain man...and next Nathan's...if there were more races closer together I would be broke!

The heat doesn't bother me too much...I like it...lots of my training are scheduled for 6 or 6:30 pm when its still really hot out. I guess I'm weird. haha.

Thanks all, for the feedback. I'll wait a couple more weeks to decide. It's on the weekend right before classes start. All kinds of (work-)crap could happen by then...

Shelley and I have both done one of them. It is a time event. I thought it was fun.

10 min swim to swim as many lengths of the pool as possible.

30 min on spin bike. All bikes were preset with resistance and a bike computer.

30 min run on indoor tready.

I thought it was worth the money. The top 3 get some gear as a prize.

I think it sounds fun... definitely different than the standard distance-based racing.
