I agree with an earlier post - scales are meaningless to me. I watch my time and my heartrate.

As for the gym - I belong to an "all-day" chain and it's nice to have it. I love the outdoors, but I also love going to the gym to work-out on their technical equipment and to be around other people. Some days, those other people can really motivate me by being my "rabbit" I "chase." I'm probably the lone guy here, too, but once a week I love going to a spin class with this small trainer that works you over like a drill instructor - she makes that workout fun.

I'm jealous of my daughter's university pool.  She's going to U. Md. this fall - heated pool with underwater sound system.

That's where I went ! ... LOVE that pool... the nadatorium is awesome

side note: my husband is the special events coordinator at Univ Md and he's working at Y Nationals this week

You're saying you can actually hear music while you're swimming?

crazyyella - 2009-07-27 6:26 PM run and bike outside with the stuff you already have and do your core fitness with a wii!!!

And swim in the bathtub!

I'm super jealous of all you people that can just walk outside and swim in the ocean by the way.  For me it's just the cheapo gym pool.

Apparently!  And no dealing with underwater earbuds, which seem to me like they would be annoying.  Though I suppose if I heard the Jaws theme, I'd be a little nervous...

Don't quote me on this, but I am pretty sure while watching the world swimming championships, the synchronized swimming commentator said that water is a better sound transmitter than air, or something like that.

Please tell me that's fake. It's only 15 steps. Sure, if it were 20 or 25, but 15? C'mon
