I wanted to put a plug in for the River Cities sprint outside Shreveport. I drove up and did that race over the weekend. I'd have to say it's the best sprint race I've done.

The give aways included a brief-case style bag (with a padded section for a lap top), a cotton race shirt, a long sleve tech shirt, hat, socks, sun glasses, big race towel, and cliff shots/blocks.

The course itself was excellent. Easy beach start/finish for the swim with lots of bouys. Bike couse was good roads with enough small rolling hills and turns to keep things interesting. Run was through the park with lots of shade. I'm a MOP'er, but I would say this is a fast course.

Everything was well organized and on-time.

I'm kind of a complainer by nature, but I couldn't find anything to complain about for this race. It was OUTSTANDING. Keep it in mind for next year.

I would agree.  They were extremely organized for so many competitors.

I would also add that if you have children the Ironfish they put on Saturday was just as good.  They really make the kids feel important and their swag was really good also.

This will be a staple race for my family for years to come.

Think it was 90 after registration fees. Well worth it. I think I had that much in free beer and dogs afterwards.

Great race.
