docswim24 - 2010-06-03 10:21 AM So is the bet still on? I know Jorge had to drop out but we still have 4 of us - Tasr, PennState, JohnyK and I ...and dck and 3558 if they want to join as they should be right there as well. 2 bets: best overall and best bike split right? Winner of each gets a 6 pack from the others?

I'm not interested in reading the first 10 pages of this thread (and have no idea about this bet)...   I don't stand a chance on the bike split, but I'm game for overall.  And I'm definitely interested in adding best run split!
Bet is only for bike and overall, no swim or run. So far Fred, Tasr, John and I.

Dude, you should totally be workin it for a swim bet!!!

Jenn, you better shut it.

It's bad enough I'll have to buy Dan 2 six packs.

If it was short course I would say maybe but my long course record is not very good....and by not very good, I mean very bad.

Last year Fred beat me both overall and on the bike at Eagleman.

PennState - 2010-06-03 1:19 PM Yeah I'm in for bike and overall. I have no illusions of winning any beer though, as there are much faster folks than me in this bet

Says the man hoping to run low 1:30s this year.  Apparently we've moved from smack talk to false modesty.

Anything can happen on Race Day.

But I would put my money on Fred based on a few factors: A.) The course is still fresh in his memory -- kows exactly where to push and put his hardest effort, especially on the Bike course.  His Run is better now than this time last year.  Seeing as Fred banged out 4:38 last year, and I'm guessing his Bike will be slightly faster, and his Run will be significantly faster, that's going to be a tough OA time to beat.

I predict Tasr will get Top 5 in his AG.  And JK will set a mean HIM PR.

I have a hotel at the Days Inn in Easton that I'm not going to use if anyone is still looking for a place to stay?  It was $101 for Saturday night, but I don't think they actually charged my card, so I can just transfer the name on the room and you can give them your own card.  Otherwise, I'll just cancel the reservation.

Damm DC, why did you have to go and predict that?

That’s like at 4:30 time.

Maybe doable if the bike is a down hill flat and huge Artic low press moves in.

I predicted that because the Eagleman Bike Course is going to feel like a 20-mile Sunday afternoon cruise compared to the Savageman course that you CRUSHED last year!!

Saw the extended forecast this morning. Sunny, hot and humid!!!

Why couldn't the race be today? Low 70s and no humidity?

PennState - 2010-06-07 8:28 PM BTW, now is the time when people start worrying about the weather in Cambridge.

Personalli I could care less, but the anxiety starts now for some.

Thanks for the reminder.  I'll add it to the list of 1,000 other things I'm worried about.

Anyone else going to the Hyatt pasta buffet on Saturday Night?  If so, come over and say "hi".  I will be dining with about 34 other people.  (Team TPR and families).

And by the way, I love the heat.  Love, love, love the heat.

(and I'm going to keep saying that until I believe it)

Does anyone know what time the transition area opens and closes? I don't see any time table schedule at all for this race.
