It closes at 645am on race morning.  I think it opens at about 5am.

Since this is my first HIM, I really have no idea how long it is going to take me to finish but I'm counting on a long day.  Anybody here going to keep me company?

I've been injured since December, so I'll likely be towards the BOP.  I'm hoping to improve my bike split from last year, but I may be walking most if not all of the run.  There will be others out there, don't worry.

Did everyone else read the latest email about there being essentially no parking except at the schools (taking the shuttle)?  I can appreciate what they are trying to do, but I'm not really sure about the concept of an "easy bike" back to the car, after doing 70.3 miles, hauling my stuff from transition.  It doesn't *sound* like a great idea.  I guess if it's fine if you have spectators to go fetch your car for you, but I don't!  Just curious if other people shared my rather negative reaction.

I'm there with you Becky.  I'm going to TRY to park closer on the street near the transition.  We will see what happens.

I think offering shuttles to/from a nearby school is a great thing.  Reading through the email, it seems like the parking situation will be similar to last year (can't park at Great Marsh, but you can park on designated streets near the park).  Parking at the school is a nice option if you don't feel like driving around and looking for a spot!

How does it work for spectators?  I doubt my family is going to make it to park by 6:30 when the last shuttle bus runs.  Should I just send them around to find street parking?

Watch out for the barracudas at high tide.  Just high tide.

Few people also got stung by jellies.  Terrenzo Bozzone said on his Twitter account he got stung Saturday swimming last year.  I didn't get stung at all.  And the baracuda's weren't biting either.

Nothing better then jellies on the swim to spice things up and keep up the pace.

I got stung last year on my face.  Didn't hurt too bad.  I was more concerned about swimming than the sting.

I don't have to swim fast....Just faster than youLaughing

Did some checking - High tide on Sunday is at 6:34 - prime Baracuda time just as the Pros are getting ready

For swimming the current will be flowing away from the bridge towards the bay (into our faces on the first leg of the swim) but it doesn't get strong (.3 of a knot until 8:30). Should affect those in the later waves - but they also get the push at the turn around.

Just one more thing to stress about.....Tongue out
