I will take all your numbers and try and find you. Good luck to everyone. I wish I was racing too.

Ditto on the wish I was racing.  I think I will be there with my camera to try and catch some of you speedy people for fun for part of the morning anyway.

See you tomorrow.

So that was a generally crappy race for me.  Anyone have any idea on the distance of the oly swim?  I've heard most people feel it was long.  Based on my time, I have to believe its long!

Rotorkim implied it was long. That seems to be a common practice in TTL.

Yeah, I understand the difference in time w/pool vs OW and wetsuit vs no wetsuit, but 1500m in 40 mins was something like 2:26/100 yds.....and I can barely do that in the pool on an easy day (I must be dragging my stroke out A LOT to see that kind of pace).  I know I got a bit off course on the way out and had to angle back to the turn, but certainly not near enough to come up with the pace I had.  My goal was 30 min (stretch goal!) and I was expecting about 35ish.

It was at least 200M long. I spoke with Kimo Seymour, the RD from Red Rock, after I finished and he said it was clearly long. I swam 28min and usually swim 24min or so. I teased him that he must have had Tuscon Racing set up the course, they are ALWAYS long.
Fun day! Heat stayed off long enough, bike course was much better than last year. Hope everyone had fun!

Was anyone involved in the crash(es)? I was on the corner of Priest and RioSalado and the accidents were the worst I have seen. Bike on Bike head on.

wow, crashes? that is scary! I know they warned us about those corners, and I saw EMT I was headed off of Priest but it just looked like someone had fallen off their bike. Other than a few others with flats, I didn't see anything like that - again, very scary, hope everyone is ok!

I spent about 4 hours in Tempe today taking pictures.

You can use the code NATHAN09 for 10% off the super low prices for this race.  (If I sell a 4x6 of every picture I post, I will barely cover my gas money

I am testing a new provider for my photos and would love any feedback from anyone that goes to the gallery for a visit or places an order.

Hope to see you guys out there sometime soon.

I was at Nathans from start to finish. I took a nap when I got home like I had raced lol. I took a few hundred pics. It will take a min for me to get them up. If you let me know your numbers I will try and see if I see your numbers in the pics. Everyone looked great out there today. The weather was great and the splits looked fast. Great Job to everyone who raced.

Great job everybody, great race!

I set a PR in the OLY by more then 20 minutes. It's amazing what being adequately trained will do!

I wasn't involved but was following a guy going into that corner that kept looking back as we approached the corner. I was several bike lengths behind him because I new how tight the corner was and the next thing I new he was running into the cones ahead of me. I didn't see if he crashed into anyone or just the cones though.

Glad to hear that the consensus is that the swim course was long.  I had my best OWS ever (by far) and still came out in 38:38.  I know I added a lot of extra distance due to going off course (I think I actually ended up in North Phoenix on the back at one point), but I felt a lot faster that 2:25/100.
