Anyone else in? I signed up on a whim last week...not sure why! Silver Lake was full, this wasn't.  Weather forecast looks good, except for of course , wind. Low of 57 Friday night, high of 72 for the race. SWEET!

Did this one in 06. It's a great little race, well organized and well run. It has a very small town feeling to it.

This will be my 4th year in a row doing this race. It's the race that started my tri career and I plan on doing it every year since. Race is small, but well run and the course is flat and fast.

$40 dollar entry fee and they had nice Tech-T's last year. Historically, they do a "wife-beater" cotton tank.

Swim is in a harbor. Water was warmer last year, but have not checked the temp.

The rumor is that the bike course was completely repaved.

Run is on a walking path along the lake, nice and cool.

Afterward you can use the showers at the Y to clean up and generally pretty good eats too.

Highly recommend for a first race or a tune-up race.

Believe me, water's cold. I swam in the harbor on Sunday.  Now, my wetsuit is a shorty but it was HARD to get in.

I hope you all did GREAT!! I was not able to come after all, due to some minor oral sugery Friday at noon. MD said, "well, uhh, you can race if you really want, but your  mouth will bleed alot". So, for once in my long life, I was smart and stayed home. (mowed grass and cleaned house!)

So, DETAILS please!! I want to know all about the morning!

The day was great! But the water was cold, like "Holy " cold. Couldn't put my face in the water, stinging needles!

The attendance was small this year, I think ony 210 not including relays were there. Day was overcast and cool, but that's okay for racing.

As for myself, I had a good day. 4:35 swim (They shortened it), 51:18 bike (18.7 mph) and 28:21 Run (9:08/mile PR!!!!!!!) I was really stoked for my run,but was disappointed on my bike, how can I average 20 mph on 56 miles but not break 19 on 16 miles?!?!?!? So, I registered on-line and theree was no Clydesdale division. I checked in with the RD and he registered me on-site. Good thing I checked, Because.....

I placed 1st! Kinda a farce, because there was only two of us that registered s Clydesdales, but I should be getting some more hardware! LOL. All of us were laughing at the results.

Saw TracyV there, she said hi quickly and BuddaBudda from BT.

Good race! But I'm still thawing out from the swim.

For some darn reason I LOVE this race. Maybe because it is in my hometown, maybe because it is super fast. I dunno!! Had a great last race of the season. Set a new run pr for me. 1st AG and 4 OA female.

I also made the local paper.
