Pre-race routine:

Drove down night before and got packet; got up and drove back race morning with two friends who were also racing; set up transition area
Event warmup:

jogged a mile; rode 4 and walked in the ocean to prepare myself for water temp

did not swim well at all; free style maybe 25% of time, breast stroke the rest; got out of sync after swallowing first wave; never got into a groove; everytime did freestyle, ended up pulling to the right (toward the beach)
What would you do differently?:

try to concentrate more on stroke; try to find a way to swim in the ocean some more for practice
