We have exceeded are old servers capacity w/ respect to processing and memory.  Its the spikes in activity that has made the sight sluggish at times although on avg, the processor runs around 40%...

So we are in the process of migrating the db to a new, bigger, better and faster server and then we will finish the rest up this weekend...we try to work on things early morning EST so dont be surprised if you cant get in during that time in the next several days...

really, should be a seamless transition...

thats what i get for a premature withdrawal of this thread....although i have never seen the site so fast (old or new version)...i hope you see the difference...

so current issues are:

  • email subscriptions
  • memberships

will work on these as fast as we can...a day or so.  post any new issues here so i can see them quicker.

if i remember when last time we went to a new server, u  may have to check and reset your local time in your control panel.

My email subscriptions changed to RSS something, so I changed that back to my original YES. (Not sure if works, but I will know if someone responds to a thread that I posted in).

Also, my time zone changed from Central to Mountain, but I changed that as well.

Thanks for the hard work.

The site is incredible.

We are still using the old server as a gateway so the DNS IP's address hasnt changed for which it is pointing to.  We will make obsolete the old server at the end of the month and go directly to the new server with updated IP's.

I would have mentioned that maybe your work is blocking you or your having network issues as this has happened to a few other users in the past...but you were with the IT dude....hmmm....

I dont know what else to say except we'll see what happens when we make the full switch???

Do you have an error page?  what exactly does it say? (enable 'show freindly HTTP error messages' in your browser)

I don't know what my employer will do if I actually start getting work done

"I really have no idea. From a command prompt he should try

nslookup www.beginnertriathlete.com

It should return: 70.85.192.228

He could try to ping 70.85.192.228

Then he could try to telnet 70.85.192.228 and typing exactly (case sensitive)
GET /default.asp HTTP/1.1
Host: www.beginnertriathlete.com

I would say that he's being blocked or something is wrong with his end. The old server is still online, and if someone accidentally goes to it instead, they wouldn't be able to tell a difference. There's still two or three people who are going to the old side according to the log files. They should be updated by the end of the week. "
